Peter pan.

Just finished my latest D.I.Y.-Project (quite an exception: This was actually my own idea!) and here I am to show you the result. I’m happy with it, except the red color – but that’s the problem when you try to craft something while living in Wilhelmshaven. The most „crafty“ store we have here is woolworth (oh yeah.) and so my options are not the most exciting ones.
Okay, stop talking. Here are the instructions for my peter pan collar.

What you need:

  • felt in a color of your choice (or of a color you can find…)
  • sequins
  • chain (half of the length you’d need to get around your neck)
  • 4 jump rings
  • 1 breech
  • fabric glue
  • pliers to cut the chain
  • Needle

Here we go:
First, draw the outlines of your collar onto the felt
Cut them out (remember to cut two of them. You want a full collar, right?!)
Add holes at both edges (so four all in all)
Attach the jump rings at the edges to connect them with the chain and one to connect to two half’s of the collar
Cut the chain to the length you need and divide it into half’s. Then add one jump ring at one chain and the breech at the other one
Connect with the collar. It should look similar to this
Now the fun part: Decorate your collar the way you like it. It opted for sequins but you can also take gems, chains, pearls – whatever comes into your mind
I choose fabric glue to attach the sequins to my collar. When you aren’t as lazy as I am, sewing will do the trick as well
Let dry overnight and tadaaa, there you go with a cute self-made-peter-pan-collar (longest word ever!)
